  1. In a mixing bowl, add whole wheat flour, rice flour, asafoetida, turmeric powder, salt and add water little by little and bring it to a medium consistency batter and keep aside to rest the batter.
  2. In a tadka pan add 1tbspn oil, cumin seeds, green chilies, onions, curry leaves, and grated ginger saute well till onions become translucent and switch off the flame. Add grated coconut to it and mix.
  3. Now add this tempering to the rested wheat flour batter and mix well. (Do check the salt at this time)
  4. Heat a cast-iron skillet or nonstick pan and grease well. Start pouring one ladleful of batter and spread evenly thick or thin. Roast from both sides well. A savory whole wheat flour pancakes are ready to serve with sauce, chutney, or have it as it is with hot tea.
